Guillaume has over 30 years' experience in launching, accelerating and turning around innovative businesses.

He has spent most of his career in the environmental sector, including 20 years as CEO of several Deeptech start-ups and BU Director of a major environmental services group.

Guillaume is an ENSTA engineer (MSc) and Harvard Business School alumnus.

Trained as a biotechnology engineer, Philippe has over 8 years' experience in the field of microalgae.

He brings solid expertise in the production of microalgae by autotrophy and fermentation, which has resulted in several patents. 

As head of technology portfolio development for applications and technological opportunities, Philippe coordinates the team of R&D scientists and technicians.

Imanol is a chemical engineer specializing in bioprocesses.
He worked for 7 years in a biorefinery transforming wheat into food ingredients on the Pomacle Bazancourt agro-industrial platform, developing processes, managing production and continuous improvement.

He then joined a leading oenological products company, where he spent 4 years as Industrial Director, supporting the structuring and ramp-up of this family-owned group's industrial dynamics.

Since February 2022, Imanol has been responsible for the industrialization of CarbonWorks technology, while at the same time working on operational prospects, the supply chain and the management of QHSE issues.

François has over 15 years' experience in the study of microalgae, from characterization to the selection and optimization of strains of interest to industry.

Trained as a cellular and molecular biologist, he has worked in several start-ups in the field of heterologous production in bacteria and microalgae. In charge of Fermentalg's microbiology platform for 8 years, he also managed numerous collaborative projects and industrial partnerships.

Since the creation of CarbonWorks in 2021, François has been Market Manager, bringing his expertise in microalgae and projects to the development of industrial applications.

Sylvain draws on 20 years' experience in sales, market conquest and business development in value-added functional ingredients in France, Europe and export.

He contributes to the development and implementation of our strategies. Sylvain is our ambassador/business developer, promoting the Carbonworks business model and building our partnerships.

Stéphane has over 15 years' experience in financial management for large and medium-sized industrial groups.

For the past 3 years, he has been supporting industrial innovation start-ups in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.

He joined the CarbonWorks team in December 2021 and is mainly involved in financial forecasting, budgetary control, cash management and reporting.

After a successful journey of six years in consulting at PwC, David Aversenq, a graduate of TBS and DECF, transitioned to the Private Equity sector in 2009. Co-founding M Capital, he currently serves as the General Manager and Partner of this asset management firm, overseeing the management of nearly 800 million euros in assets. David supervises the Private Equity investment teams at M Capital and, in this capacity, drives the operations of the Nouvelle Aquitaine Co-investment Fund (NACO*). Since 2009, David has executed and/or supervised over 150 investments totaling more than 350 million euros.

Cyrille is a Partner at Demeter Investment Managers, a French investment company involved in the energy and ecological transition. He is an experienced venture investor in the Agtech sector and involved in several European boards. He formely held finance, M&A and business development positions at Natixis, Adisseo and Legrand. Cyrille also founded Ecomeris, a start-up company specialized in biomaterials, and worked as an executive advisor for several Agtech start-ups.

Edouard is an investment director, in charge of the Bpifrance Green funds (€600M under management). Edouard sits at the boards of Zei, CarbonWorks, Sabella, Actility, Aledia, Naio Technologies, Cubyn, Shipup, Easymile, Ynsect, Phenix, Getaround and Vulog. Prior to joining Bpifrance mid 2014, Edouard had launched in 2011 the first multi-corporate VC fund dedicated to smart mobility, Ecomobility Ventures. Edouard has graduated from the Ecole Nationale de Chimie de Paris and HEC Paris.

Bertrand Devillers, Fermentalg's Chief Financial Officer, has over 35 years' experience in financial functions in Europe and the United States. A graduate of HEC Paris with a degree in business law, he began his career in auditing with Peat Marwick (now KPMG) and strategy consulting with Corporate Value Associates. From 1990 to 2002, he held finance positions in a variety of sectors (Générale des Eaux, Yves Rocher, Browning/Winchester) in France, Belgium and the United States, with assignments involving legal and financial restructuring and operational improvement. Following an LBO of the FCI group's specialty connectors business between 2002 and 2004, he led consulting and interim management assignments and was an investor and partner in a telecoms services start-up. Since 2016 he has joined Fermentalg to manage the industrial and commercial development and structuring of the business.

Committed since the beginning of my career in innovation and business development within the waste management sector, I acquired a deep understanding of current and future technology needs across the entire value chain, from the collection of waste till the suitable material or energy recovery.

Since 2016 as part of SUEZ Ventures team, I experimented the terrific power of Open-Innovation mechanisms. I focused on the selection and implementation of commercial, strategic and technological partnerships with start-ups, SMEs and/or industrial groups in order to integrate differentiating technologies and know-how enabling the transformation of our businesses in the field of resource management and recycling.

I am now focused on boosting SUEZ to deploy massive and effective Carbon to Value solutions that will contribute to mitigate the Climate Change accordingly to Paris Agreement objectives.

Lucas is an investment director of the BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund where he is specialised in Ag&Food tech, and Biodiversity. Prior to joining the fund, Lucas worked 4 years in the CVC of BNP Paribas, scouting fintechs and fostering innovation for CIB. Lucas has over 10 years of experience in project finance, M&A and restructuring, mainly in the energy and commodity sectors.

Lucas is a life science engineer graduated from AgroParisTech, with a specialisation in Environment and Energy from IFP School. Lucas also holds a MBA from ESSEC Business School.

The BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund, resulting from the partnership between BNP Paribas and the Solar Impulse Foundation, invests in early to late-stage promising start-ups dedicated to the ecological transition, with the objective of accelerating their development and significantly changing their scale. Target sectors include clean energy, smart cities, sustainable mobility, industrial innovation, sustainable food and agriculture, circular economy and ocean.

Philippe Lavielle is an accomplished entrepreneur and a veteran of the industrial biotechnology sector. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Fermentalg (Euronext FALG), a young industrial biotech company positioned as the French leader in products derived from micro-algae. Philippe is also Chairman of the Strategic Board of CarbonWorks, a technology start-up dedicated to CO₂ capture and recovery.

Philippe is a graduate of the École des Hautes Études Commerciales. A dual French and American citizen, he is 62, married and has three children.
